chance and was greatly surprised.

It's a small shop, barely enough room for six customers in front of
the counter and enough room for 4 employees behind the counter.
There might have been a counter/shelf by the front window but it's
really a take out place. They offer the usual selection of to go
breakfast fare (omelets, eggs on a roll, oatmeal) and I noticed some
freshly packaged greens for salads (mixed greens as well as
romaine). They have a variety of wraps (some made to order).
They even offered a whole lobster lunch for $25 and a cod lunch
for $10 as a daily special.

(718-333-0590). They offer a small 12 oz and a larger 16 oz served
in a styrofoam cup. The soup is served very hot, so if you need to
travel as I did, it stays hot for a while.

I ordered two small cups and opted for the Vegie Tomato, Basil
and Mozzarella ($3.25) and the Thai Chicken with Coconut
($3.50). I was also given a piece of italian bread and an orange for
each soup. At this point I haven't even tried the food and I was very
impressed.

I started with the Chicken Soup and I sipped it as I drove to my
next job. Don't try this at home because as I mentioned earlier the
soup is served piping hot. It was a thick, creamy soup, great flavor
with small bits of carrot and celery. After sipping half of the liquid,
I was very surprised to find the bottom half of the cup filled with
1"x1/2" chunks of chicken. Next time I will find a quiet street and
enjoy this soup as a whole. I'll give this an 8 out of 10. Great
flavor.. I would happily eat another bowl or three but I'm not sure if
I would find myself craving it at 2 in the morning. It might also get an
extra point because it's not easily made at home.

The Tomato, Basil and Mozzarella soup was a thick puree (several
times thicker than tomato juice). It had a smoky flavor (less of a
flavor and more of a "feeling" as you poured the soup into your
mouth). There were chunks of mozzarella thru out the soup. This
gets an 8.5/9 - again a good soup and if I let myself I might soon be
obsessing over the smoky flavor.

I'm definitely going back to try the rest of their soups. The woman
behind the counter said they opened eight months ago. Please
come out and try this place. It's a very nice addition to the
neighborhood and I hope they last long enough for me to get thru
their entire menu. This would be a very good lunch suggestion for a
visit to the Aquarium, Coney Island or Key Span Park. Be fore
warned that while it might easily be accessable by train, parking
might be a problem.
